It’s that time again, my Halloween story reading friends!!!
Welcome to the 10th Annual Funk-N-Fiction Halloween Flash Fiction Event!!
I can’t believe this is our 10th year doing this!! I hadn’t realized that until I started putting this post together.
Thanks to all of our previous and current participating authors (many of whom were/are on deadline and took time away to create these little nuggets of goodness for us), and to all of YOU who have so much fun with the stories.
In case this is year one for you… our annual Halloween Flash Fiction blog event is a showcase of seasonal short stories from awesome authors, paired with inspiring art from talented DeviantArt creators. Each picture was selected from DeviantART artists who allows their images to be used for non-commercial use with proper credit and a link back to their page. I will be doing that for each one, so if you love something, definitely check out their other art. I’ll also be linking back to the artists’ DA pages with the finished post link.
Some of these “seasonally inspired drabbles” are related to the authors’ existing story worlds… some are completely new. Some of them are lighthearted and fun… some are downright creepy. Every one is unique, and I’m THRILLED with the variety of our stories.
So… here is the posting schedule for our festive flash fictions. Be sure to check out each post, each day. Not only are the stories fantastic, but many of the authors are offering giveaways!!

After giving it some thought — I decided we HAVE to do something extra fun to celebrate our 10th year doing this!! So — in addition to the contests that some authors have already included on their story posts… we’re going to give away one overall prize to one lucky reader!!! One commenter will win a FREE REGISTRATION TO THE 2025 COASTAL MAGIC CONVENTION IN DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA (FEBRUARY 22-25).
To enter, just leave a meaningful comment on a story post. Each comment will be one entry (one comment per story – giving each person 14 chances to win), and comments left to enter the author giveaways will double as entries for this overall contest. 🙂 This contest will run through midnight (PT) November 3rd (same as the author contests), and winner will be chosen and announced in our wrap-up post on November 4th.
