“Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.” (via That Artsy Reader Girl blog)
Every Tuesday is given a topic, and blogs all over the bookisphere join in by posting their own take on the subject. Here’s my contribution for this week’s “Mainstream Popular Authors that I Still Have Not Read” prompt…
(FYI, quite a few of these are absolutely on my TBR list — but some just aren’t my “thing”. I’m glad so many others are enjoying them, though!!)
So — how about YOU??
Have you read these authors? Are there any “popular” authors that you either haven’t gotten to yet, or just aren’t interested in? No shame here — life can be crazy and we don’t all have time to read all day, no matter how much we’d like to, lol!! Also… not every book is for every person. There is an audience for all kinds of books that just don’t appeal to me, and I’m happy that those readers love those authors.
I’d love to hear your thoughts below! ❤
Stephen King has been on so many lists this week!
I liked his work when I was a teenager, but it’s been a long time since I picked up anything new from him.
Here is my Top Ten Tuesday post.

Yeah, I was noticing that when I was popping around to check out people’s lists!! Maybe one of these days I’ll try one of his non-horror titles. 🙂

Oh some of my autobuy authors are on this list! We both put Diana Gabaldon on our lists this week.

I’d love to know who from the list is on your auto-buy! I may need to move them up my TBR, lol!!

I’m with you on most. I loved Stephanie Plum through about the 18th book. Fun, but all the same.

I don’t mind a bit of a formula, as long as the story is fun. Lots of people that like similar books to what I like really love her, so I’m hoping to get to her stuff soon. 🙂

They’re fun. Just in real time they’re my age–60 to 62 lol In the books they never age lol

Yarros is making a lot of lists today! I find it funny that they all have Fourth Wing as the book because she has so many amazing romance novels before it.

Now I have to go down the Rebecca Yarros rabbit hole!! I had no idea!! Thanks for the heads up!

I’ve only read George R.R. Martin from this list, and it just wasn’t my cup of tea

Yeah, I can appreciate the story, and how many people love it, but it’s just not for me. Thanks for stopping by!

I almost put Evanovich on my list today. Mystery/thriller books are my jam, but I’ve never given hers a go. I need to at least try her out and see what I think. I hope we both enjoy her books when we get to them!
Happy TTT!

My aunt used to LOVE her Stephanie Plum series… one of these days I’m going to hunker down and get to them, lol. Good luck!!

I’ve read Fourth Wing and Game of Thrones is on my TBR.
Sarah J. Maas, I know from ACOTAR and while most people love it, I’m not the biggest fan, so I won’t join on any other of her books
Great post!

You’ve got a bunch of my faves on that list, although I still haven’t read anything by Rebecca Yarros yet. And I love your emphasis on how not every book is for every reader, and that’s okay.

I have to admit, I wasn’t all that interested in the Rebecca Yarros books when the hoopla first started, but my sister is reading them now, and after hearing her talk about them, I’m MUCH more interested, lol!!
And yeah — I’m a big supporter of letting people love what they love, and understanding that it’s going to be different for different people. ❤

Me too – I’m very much a ‘you do you, let me do me, and if that’s two different things, that’s fine’ kind of person.
I wasn’t too into the hype about the Yarros book at first, but one of my author friends is super close with Rebecca Yarros and basically told me I have to read it, so here I am, all on the bandwagon!

I’ve read and enjoyed Evanovich, King, and Gabaldon, but they’re all very different. 🙂

I have read Nicholas Sparks (and enjoy them as reads I don’t have to think while reading) but suspect Fourth Wing wouldn’t be my thing (despite it’s incredible popularity!). I also haven’t read Sarah’s books either. 🙂 Thanks so much for visiting my website on this week.

I’ve read exactly one Stephen King book (Misery) and that was enough for me.
Sparks got me in high school with A Walk To Remember because a bunch of classmates were recommending it. At the time I was like, “wow, this book meant for adults is actually enjoyable! Four stars!” but I never went back for another and now I don’t think I will.
