It’s always a “treat” to get to catch up with characters from books we love. Today, we get a Halloween snippet from Seressia Glass’s GAME ON world!
After you read… be sure to let us know, in the comments, if you dress up for Halloween (or other events) and if so, what your favorite costume has been!

Enjoy this Halloween peek into the lives of Aron Galanis and Samara Reynolds, the leads from GAME ON…
by Seressia Glass
Crowds had never been his thing, Aron thought as he adjusted his collar again. Honestly, people had never been his thing. He could count on one hand the ones that were most important to him and still have digits left over.
Until Samara.
Thanks to her, his world had expanded. He had gained a second family. He had gaming friends IRL. His house was now a home. He no longer worked around the clock. He actually hung out with people and enjoyed it.
He was doing a lot of things he hadn’t done before, thanks to Samara.
Like wearing this ridiculous pirate costume.
“I’m still not sure about this,” Aron grumbled, staring at his reflection. “I think I look like a cross between a Disney villain and an alcohol mascot.”
“I think you make a very dashing pirate,” Samara told him, smoothing the lapels of his bright red coat. Dark stubble coated his cheeks and chin, and his hair hung past his ruffled collar. Even without the eyepatch, he had a very roguish appearance. “Damned sexy, too.”
“Sexy? If you say so.” He tugged on the frilly ruffles at his throat. “Why am I wearing more clothes than you are?”
Samara looked down at her gauzy white dress and brown leather corset that proudly displayed her wares. “Halloween tradition is for the ladies to wear sexy costumes, so I’m your pirate wench for the night.”
“My pirate wench, and that’s the only time I’m going to say that word, could catch a cold or freeze to death.”
“It’s warm out, and besides, we’re going straight from the car to the venue,” she promised, then looked at herself sideways in the mirror. “Do you think my corset needs to be tighter?”
“If I pull those laces any tighter, I’m likely to break your ribs,” he complained. “You should at least be able to sit down comfortably. And as sexy as you are, I think being able to breathe is also important.”
“You’re right.” She smoothed a hand over her leather-wrapped waist then took in a deep breath. “See? I have lots of breathing room. I should even be able to sit in your car with no problem.”
“Hhm.” He narrowed his eyes at her, his gaze raking her from her dark brown knee-high boots to the feathered cap atop her curls. “Tell me the truth. You decided on pirate costumes just so you could wear a corset, am I right?”
“Guilty as charged. I didn’t have enough time to commission costumes based on Legendsfall characters, so a pirate and his companion was the next best thing.” She leaned against him, staring at him with wide, demure eyes. “Are you going to punish me, Captain?”
His eyes immediately darkened. “Don’t tempt me,” he warned as he wrapped his arms around her. “I’m this close to really making like a pirate and throwing you over my shoulder and carrying you off to our bedroom to plunder your treasure.”
“Oh.” Her heart thumped hard at the sensual seriousness in his expression. “I like the way you think, Mr. Galanis.”
He dipped his head to press a kiss to her throat. “Then you’ll love my next thought, which is to forget the party and head straight for our bedroom.”
Samara gripped his biceps to keep herself from melting against him. When he got that look in his eyes, that look that was hyper-focused on her, all her common sense escaped her brain, making it difficult to think about anything other than him. Her head fell back of its own accord, giving him complete access to her throat. He tightened his grip on her waist, pulling her flush against him.
What had they been talking about? It seemed like it had been something important that they were supposed to be doing though really, was there anything more important than this moment with her pirate fiancé?
“Samara.”
His voice held a note of gritty warning, and it was enough to pull her back to her senses. “We can’t ditch the party.”
“Why not?” he asked, his lips grazing hers.
Why couldn’t they ditch the party? There had to be a good reason, but reason flew out the window the moment he kissed her neck. What was so important about the Halloween party anyway? There wouldn’t be anything wrong with them arriving fashionably late. It’s not like it was their party or anything…
Oh.
“It’s our party,” Samara managed to point out. “And the party’s a fundraising event for the Artemis Foundation, and we’re the hosts.”
“Dammit.” The surprising curse dropped from Aron’s lips as he took a single, slow step back. “And just as I was about to create a Pro versus Con list.”
Samara laughed as she took her own step back. “You and your lists.”
“Those lists got you to agree to date me, didn’t they?”
Reaching out, she snagged his hat off the nearby table and settled it atop his head. “Your mind and your looks got me to date you, the lists just highlighted what an excellent choice you are.”
She placed her hand flat against his chest. “And your heart got me to agree to marry you.”
“In six months, thirteen days, twelve hours and thirty-seven minutes,” he reminded her with a radiant smile. “Give or take a few seconds.”
“Sounds about right.” She linked arms with him. “So how about we go raise some money for the foundation then come home for our own version of Trick or Treat?”
He gave her that slow smile that lit up her world the way she lit up his. “I love the way you think, Ms. Reynolds.”

I love dressing up for Halloween. And my favorite costume is the one I’m wearing, lol. I really need to read this series. If it’s anything like her other stuff, it will be fantastic.
